This Input Method allows the use of any pointing device to click on the appropriate virtual key. It is particularly suited to Face Tracking using a suitable Web Cam.
The keyboard shown is a predictive keyboard, similar to that which can be seen on a mobile phone. As the keys for the groups of characters are clicked, JayBee will build up the possible words that the combinations give. In exactly the same way as with keyboard entry the 4 Aid panels will be updated. To select any of the possibilities presented click in the appropriate panel.
If a word you require is not currently in the JayBee vocabulary then press the 'Spell' key. This cause the individual alpha letters to appear.
The layout of the Predictive Keyboard mirrors the numeric keypad. It is shown below.
One very powerful feature of all virtual keyboards is the Predicted Words Buttons. JayBee predicts what words you are likely to use next use base upon your previous usage. There are three different modes of prediction.
-
Start of Phrase. In this case you both the Word Field and the Phrase Field are empty. JayBee looks at your usage to suggest words that you tend to start phrases with and makes them available on 10 buttons. The illustration below shows this case.
-
You have started to type a word, but have not yet completed the word. JayBee looks at your usage and suggests the words which you will most likely be typing and makes them available on 10 buttons.
-
You have just completed a word. JayBee looks at your usage and suggests what the next word might be and makes them available on 10 buttons
In the case of the Predictive Keyboard additional Instant Buttons are available. The buttons shown on the right will immediately speak the word or words on the button. The second column of words is dependent upon which of the "Yes" or "No" buttons are clicked before. The illustration below shows the words after "Yes" has been clicked.
